The History of EGN
With more than 25 years of building relationships and sharing valuable experience among business leaders and specialists, the value of connection within a trusted network of peers continues to drive our organisation’s journey:
EGN, Executives’ Global Network, was started in 1992 in Svendborg, Denmark, by Jeanette and Jørgen Galsgaard. As a CFO, Jørgen Galsgaard found himself in a situation with a shortage of peers from whom he could seek advice. This prompted him to start a professional peer group network for Financial and Accounting Officers.
In 1996, the first peer group for IT Managers was established and in the following years, the professional range of the network grew to include executives and specialists from Logistics, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing and General Management.
In 2004, businessman Jens Erik Karlskov Jensen came on board as co-owner and Chair.
In 2008, the first peer group launched in Sweden - thus breaking the ground for the global network, EGN. Later that year Norway and Singapore were added and in the following years, EGN Group expanded significantly, especially in Europe and Asia, bringing us to where we are today.
From the very beginning, the objective has been to help people and companies grow by providing a shared yet confidential setting in which business relationships and experience-sharing can be nurtured.
In 2014 Jørgen Galsgaard and Jens Erik Karlskov Jensen withdrew from day-to-day management but both still play an active role on the board of directors, of which Jens Erik Karlskov Jensen is Chairman.
